Preview: Silverstone Auctions, NEC Birmingham, 15-16 November

Published 02 October 2013

The popular Silverstone Auctions’ sale, held during the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, will expand to two days this year - selling cars and motorcycles on 15-16 November.

The decision to hold two sales at the NEC was prompted by excellent results at last year's first auction. The 2012 auction resulted in inclusive sales value of £1.32m with many cars shattering their pre-sale estimates. Saturday’s sale expands to include an automobilia and lifestyle auction which will offer watches, leather goods and other luxury items.

November’s sale, which promises to be Silverstone Auctions’ biggest ever, is its final one in 2013 in what has been a big year of growth for the young auction house. The programme in 2013 included two at its spiritual base at Silverstone race circuit and return trips to CarFest North and South.

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: 'It will mean an even greater choice of collectable classics, race cars and motorbikes to tempt bidders, while for vendors it offers a great opportunity to sell their cherished possession at the UK’s leading classic car event, which last year attracted over 58,000 enthusiasts.'
