Dream Rides to offer high octane thrills at the NEC Classic Motor Show

Published 13 November 2013

The Dream Rides garage will return to the NEC Classic Motor Show on 15-17 November, offering the public high octane thrills and spills, with classic and modern sports cars.

Organised by Sporting Bears, the charity fundraising motor club, Dream Rides allows the public to enjoy a 10 mile passenger ride in a performance vehicle in exchange for an agreed charitable donation.

There’ll be more than 90 cars to choose from, with everything from classic D-Type Jaguars to the latest Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.

As it’s all for charity, the size of your donation will determine what type of car you can take a Dream Ride in. However, you don’t need deep pockets to get involved, there’ll be a number of affordable cars on offer, including the Capri Brooklands 280 and MGT GT VA.

The Sporting Bears give their cars, time and fuel freely so that every penny raised goes to the various children's charities they support. In 2012 they reached the million pound milestone in their fundraising at the show and will, on average, give 1000 dream rides over the three days raising between £30,000 and £35,000.

This year the money raised will be donated to four of the UK children's charities –  Winston's Wish, The Marfan Trust, Scottish Association of Children with Heart Disease (SACHD) and Daisy Chain.

So, for as little as £10, you can have a ride in a great British classic and help a worth charity at the same time.
