Jaguar Heritage brought a fantastic collection of vehicles to this year’s show, including this 1983 XJ-S Police car.  The 3.6-litre coupe would be a standard Jaguar with 223bhp and a top speed of 141mph, although many forces would upgrade the wheels and fit Michelin XWX tyres.

The XJ-S was accompanied by another of ‘emergency vehicles’, including a 1985 XJ6 Silverstone fire car. The pre-production model was built in June 1985 to German specification and fitted with a 2.9-litre engine. However, the car was lent to the Silverstone Racing circuit and used as a high-speed fire tender.
