Historics 22nd September Classic Car Auction Viewing
There were some stunning cars and at least one big surprise at a first viewing of Historics 22nd September classic car auction at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge.
Most eye-catching was the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1 estimated at £69,000 to £74,000 which appeared to be virtually faultless. A jaw dropping car and only one of three Corvettes with a pair of C2 4-speed manual roadsters also on offer.
Star of the sale is undoubtedly this 1964 Aston Martin DB5 estimated at a cool £550,000 to £600,000.
Not too far behind, the 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 expected to make £235,000 to £275,000.
The 1958 FIAT 500 Jolly is as close to perfect as a Jolly gets, and is estimated at £28,000 to £32,000.
A rather nice 1968 Morris Minor 1000 traveller fitted with a 1,340cc A Series engine, 5-speed Type 9 gearbox, Minilite wheels and a pair of comfortable front seats is offered at no reserve.
But bargain of the day has to be a virtually faultless 2002 Mercedes Benz W211 E-Class 6-door 8-seat limousine by Binz with only 54,000 miles recorded and showing every sign that is true.
Perfect leather, 2nd and 3rd row vanity mirrors, even a DVD video player and not a mark on it anywhere. Even intact white grease on the door hinges.
Another car offered at no reserve. And if anyone has a use for a low mileage 2002 8 seater limo it must be an excellent buy.
