Best car I've owned so far....

OMG what can I say about my utterly brilliant Gti. I've got a mere 220,000 on the clock!!! (Oh & its Petrol, not Diesel!) I brought it with 90,000 on it all those years ago, from a Garage some 2 hours away from my Home in Oxon. Starts every day without fail.

Over the years I've owned a Capri, Escort XR3, XR3i Cabriolet, Escort RS and a Fiesta XR2 so it gives you some idea of my choices. I always rated 'Ford' Highly on my list but this Golf is absolutely by far, the best reliable l car I've owned ever. Three of my previous ones, I had from new and had some problems!!! So far, I've had one new clutch, a couple of Cam belts replaced, front ball joints (thingys???), a Heavy Duty Battery, front brake discs but nowt major. Still in the original Exhaust too. I have to admit, the car had a service history with one prior lady owner and before her, it was a 'Hire' car. I'm not known for my 'mechanical' sympathy I may add and I can still manage to wind it up to a fair 'few miles' per hr, over the legal limit..., ahem with ease! Obviously on the rare occasion I may add...

So, IF you find one with high mileage don't be put off. If it has a Service History, go for it. You wont regret it. I love my Golf so much I'm reluctant to get rid of it. Alas my Children are not able to learn to drive in it!! So, my Daughter has opted for her baby Brother... a VW Polo.

Happy motoring....
