Overall reliability

My pride and joy and the best car you could ever own.

I bought my merc from a private seller for £600, tax n mot full MB SH and approx 97,000 miles. It had been sat down the side of a house and he'd forgotten about it until a week before he was due to move abroad. I had never driven an auto before let alone a car as pyhsically big in size as this one !

I have not had to have any major works done to the car apart from wear and tear ( tyres etc ) although i do seem to be going through brakes a bit quick. I have now done over 200, 000 miles with her and apart from some rust on the wing and round the arieal she's still going strong. ok she looks tierd and is blowing a little bit of black stuff out the exhaust, but shes not losing oil or anything. We did have a one or two incidnts of her not starting but a new fuel pump was fitted and away we went. I service her and my partner does any other bits like brakes etc. The build quality is brilliant and she still drives like a dream.

ive driven her to kent and back in one day in all the bad snow, never let me down or got stuck, and im happy to jump in her and do it again today. i have driven new mercs and mine blows them into the weeds, i wont have a new merc, im sticking to my 190e until she dies, then i'll get another one just like her or a 320 ce or SL not sure yet but got to be a oldie.

If your offered one of these cars i highly recommend it, and if Mercedes are reading this...go back to basics and build your new cars like these oldies, the quality is SSOOO much better.
