Bentley specialist Stanely Mann dies
Well-known Bentley specialist Stanley Mann has died. Mann, a dealer in and restorer of vintage Bentley, passed away after a fall at his workshop on 4 February, 2016.
Mann acquired his first Bentley more than 45 years ago. He went on to found the eponymous Stanley Mann Racing Team and campaigned various vintage Bentleys at all levels of motorsport, including the setting of the UK Class B 1000-mile record at Millbrook in 1992.
Stanley, with six like-minded vintage Bentley enthusiasts, founded the Benjafield’s Racing Club in 1990. Limited to 100 members, the club celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015 and in November was named Club of the Year at the International Historic Motoring Awards.
Stanley was one of the great characters in the vintage Bentley world and he will be sorely missed by all. Benjafield’s Racing Club will be arranging an appropriate event to commemorate Stanley’s life later this year.
