Touring car aces Huff and Soper to do battle in Capris at Goodwood
Racers Steve Soper and Rob Huff will both contest the Gerry Marshall Trophy at the 73rd Members’ Meeting in Group 1 Ford Capris.
Huff will take to the grid in the Bastos-liveried 3.0S that belongs to his friend Richard Meins. At the Revival , Huff and Meins took a Jaguar E-type to fifth place in the Graham Hill Trophy for 1960s GT cars.
Soper will take a seat in the ex-Gordon Spice 3.0S that its entrant John Young and Emanuele Pirro took to second place in 2014.
Huff, a Festival of Speed and Revival regular, was due to race at the 72nd Members’ Meeting, but commitments in testing for Lada Sport meant that he couldn’t make it. Later in the year, the 2012 world touring car champion gave Lada its maiden victory.
Soper may be best known to UK enthusiasts for his BTCC exploits, but he has also claimed the Japanese touring car title and has raced at both Spa and Nürburgring 24-hour events.
