Get ready for the new London Classic Car Show

Published 05 January 2015

The classic car show season kicks off early this year with the launch of the new London Classic Car Show, which opens on Thursday.

Running from 8-11 January at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London’s Docklands, it promises to be a little different to the traditional show.

The main feature is the Grand Avenue – a indoor motoring runway that runs the length of the show on which 40 of the most iconic cars from the last 100 years will parade.

That means you’ll get the chance to see as well as hear such legendary classics as a 1956 ex-Stirling Moss Maserati 250F.

Other highlights include:

  • Homage to the career of Red Bull designer Adrian Newey.
  • The 13 most significant cars ever built, according to Top Gear’s James May
  • TV Chef and car nut James Martin’s private collection of Ferraris and Mini-Coopers.
  • ...plus the James Martin Classic Café, providing ‘good honest grub’
  • Motor Sport Hall of Fame, paying tribute to Enzo Ferrari, Ayrton Senna, Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, Tazio Nuvolari, Stirling Moss, Jim Clark and Sir Jackie Stewart
  • Special feature celebrating the 60th anniversary of the avant-garde Citroen DS
  • Special feature celebrating 100 years of Maserati with three classics – Sebring, Ghibli SS and Khamsin – performing on The Grand Avenue, plus a showcase of cars from Maserati itself including a 5000GT, 3500 GT Vignale Spider, GranTurismo MC Stradale and, hopefully, a rare 1935 Tipo 4CS racer
  • Supercars from Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati, Jaguar, Bugatti
  • Racing Legends from Le Mans, from Bentley, Porsche, Jaguar, Ford, Ferrari and McLaren
  • Leading classic dealers and specialists with cars and services for sale

Tickets are available from the show website – www.thelondonclassiccarshow.co.uk – where early bird discounts reduce the on-the-door standard entry price from £25 to just £22.

Premium Tickets – which have limited availability and are already completely sold out for Saturday 10 January – will give visitors access to the premium enclosure with a view of The Grand Avenue’s turning circle, a drink and complimentary cloakroom plus the official event handbook.
