New tap socket from Laser Tools

Published 16 June 2015

When cutting new threads (or cleaning old ones), the traditional T-piece type tap holder can be awkward to manage, especially if space is a bit tight.

So this new tap socket from Laser Tools should make things easier. You can use it with either 1/4in or 3/8in drive ratchets and extensions to hold the tap. They're made from chrome vanadium, too, which means they're strong and also magnetic.

The square-section sockets are sized to fit commonly used taps: the four 1/4in drive sockets are 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm; the four 3/8in drive sockets are 5mm, 6mm, 7mm and 8mm. They even come with a handy socket rail to keep them secure in the tool box.
