Professionals Capri sets new world record

A Ford Capri that was featured in television series The Professionals has set a new world record at auction. The 3.0-litre Capri S sold for £55,000 at H&H Classics sale at Duxford

The car, which was driven by Bodie (played by Lewis Collins) featured in seven episodes of series two with the fake registration UOO 303T. It also appeared in several magazines and in The Professionals book.

Finished in Strato Silver, the 1978 coupe had a tartan plaid Fishnet Recaro interior. The car had been extensively restored two years ago. It was estimated to sell for between £35,000 and £45,000.

Damian Jones, sales manager at H&H Classic, says, 'This classic car is also a wonderful piece of entertainment memorabilia. Classic cars and film props are two of the fastest growing areas in collecting where we have seen values soar.'
