Get in to affordable classic motorsport with the MG Car Club

Published 13 March 2015

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at classic motorsport but worried that it was too expensive? It's worth checking out some of the race events held by the MG Car Club.

For example, it’s possible to compete in an MG Metro for as little £4000 – and that makes it one of the cheapest ways into motorsport in the UK. But it doesn't have to be a Metro - the club has lots of championships.

There are seven championships and two series that offer competitors the opportunity to experience a variety of racing disciplines from modern front-wheel drive hot hatches through to traditional, rear-wheel driver sports cars.

Not only is the club’s racing affordable, it also offers access to some of Britain’s best-loved circuits with the likes of Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Donington all featuring on the Club’s packed calendar.

If you’d like to know more about the Club’s comprehensive motorsport programme, visit the website at www.mgcc.co.uk/motorsport or contact the Club’s Competitions Secretary John Hutchison on 01235 849738.
