Restoration show Car SOS given Channel 4 slot

Published 19 January 2015

Popular classic car restoration television programme Car SOS is getting a slot on mainstream TV.

Presented by Fuzz Townshend, the show – a National Geographic Channel production – will be broadcast on Channel 4 from Monday, 19 January at 11am.

Car SOS’s first episode of the first series features the revival of a 1986 Ford Cosworth, with later episodes including a Volkswagen Beetle, Rover P6, Triumph Stag and Lotus Elan.

Fuzz’s schedule involves spending 24 weeks filming and restoring cars to cover ten episodes per series. The show has several million followers around the world, and is broadcast in over 100 countries.

It's a bit like Aaron in Fast'n'Loud and Ed in Wheeler Dealers - do a car resto show with a real expert in it, even if the show is hosted by a bit of a prat, and people will watch it.
