Record number of clubs set for London classic car show
A record number of clubs will be exhibiting at this year’s London Classic Car Show. Top marques such as Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Porsche and Rover will take centre stage of the expanded Car Club Square at the Excel Show on 15-18 February.
In total, 24 clubs will be exhibiting - the maximum number the show can currently accommodate. Models worth keeping an eye out for include Princess Diana’s Jaguar XJS cabriolet while the Capri Club will have a South African produced Capri Perana, which is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 Mustang engine.
The MG Owners’ Club will have the ex-factory MGB that Paddy Hopkirk and Andrew Hedges raced at Le Mans in 1965 on its stand. More recently the car (DRX 255C) was owned by renowned MG stalwart Barry Sidery-Smith who sadly passed away last summer. As a fitting tribute to him, the iconic MGB will be returning to Le Mans in June.
