Philip Glenister's hand-picked display of classic getaway cars set for London show
Whether it’s the Minis from The Italian Job or the Mk2 Jaguar from The Sweeney, the bad guys always seemed to get the best cars. Well, that was until DCI Gene Hunt got the keys to an Audi Quattro in Ashes to Ashes.
Now Philip Glenister, who played the throwback cop in the hit BBC series, is to bring together some of the best villians' vehicles at next year’s London Classic Car show. The display will include such criminal classics as a Mk1 Ford Transit and a Ford Sierra Cosworth Sapphire.
Perolhead Glenister, who also presents Channel 4's For The Love of Cars, says, ‘We will take our inspiration from TV, films and real life - these cars need to be quick, handle well… and have lots of room in the back, of course.’
As one of the key focus points of this year’s show, the cars that make the final cut will be showcased on a specially designed exhibition. This year’s London Classic Car Show takes place on 15-18 February at London’s Excel. For more information, visit thelondonclassiccarshow.co.uk.
