Historic racers cars head to Cholmondeley for RallyFest

Historic and Group B rally cars are heading to Cheshire at the end of the month for this year's RallyFest. More than 50 classic racers will gather at Cholmondeley Castle on Saturday, 28 October. Last year, 10,000 fans flocked to the country house in Nantwich to see the high-octane vehicles tear around the castle’s parkland roads.

As well the rally action, there will also be a supercar cavalcade featuring Ferraris, McLarens and Porsches. Visitors can also see a BMX stunt show from Lee Musselwhite and his high-flying ‘Bike Battle’ team, while Red Bull will host its own Street Fighter fan zone with three consoles to keep gamers amused.

Younger visitors will also be treated to a host of interactive activities free of charge, courtesy of event partner Dayinsure. The family fun zone will include an 18ft climbing wall, a caving tunnel, human hamster balls, bungee runs, Segways, an inflatable obstacle course, penalty shoot-outs, and giant garden games.

Other notable RallyFest attractions include appearances by Welsh Rally legends, autograph and selfie sessions with today’s WRC stars, big screen coverage, live commentary, a catering village, trade stalls,  car club displays, a face-painter, mini tanks, and funfair rides.

There will also be an opportunity to take a passenger ride the classic and sports cars of the Sporting Bears Motor Club. The club will be raising funds for Ty Gawith, the only children’s hospice in north Wales.

All accompanied children aged 15 and under will be admitted free while adult tickets cost £23 (including a glossy programme priced at £9) when purchased in advance, or £30 on the gate. For more details visit: www.walesrallygb.com.
