Group A rally cars set for Shelsley
A host of Group A and WRC rally cars are set to take Shelsley Walsh by storm during its Classic Nostalgia weekend in July.
Expect to see examples of such icons as the Ford Sierra Cosworth, Lancia Delta Integrale, Ford Escort Cosworth, Ford Focus, 555 Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo, Toyota Celica GT-Four Corolla WRC over the weekend of 22-23 July.
The organisers will also be paying tribute to The Campbells, marking the 50th anniversary of Donald Campbell’s death. Donald’s daughter Gina and his nephew Don Wales will be unveiling a car dedicated to Bluebird.
The Napier Bluebird replica (pictured below) with the W12 aero engine will also be at the event, performing demonstration runs on the hill.
On the Sunday there will be a street concours for the first 100 cars to arrive. The top 15 will then have a parade run up the hill during the lunch break. Judging will be carried out by motorsport commentator Simon Taylor.
And, of course, there will be a weekend full of competition with a wide variety of cars tackling the famous hill.
Off track, there is the Courtyard with the main stage hosting music and dancing for those who wish to relax and soak up the atmosphere. The main stage will also be the place to be to hear from our guests chat about their time in motorsport.
