Silverstone Classic 2017 gets in gear

Published 17 October 2016

The 2017 Silverstone Classic will be launched on 5 November at the Regent’s Street Motor Show in London. With the city’s flagship shopping destination closed to through traffic during the day, the road between Piccadilly and Oxford Circus is home to a unique display of cars ahead of the London to Brighton veteran car run.

Last year, the free-to-view event attracted a record 450,000 visitors and even more are expected next month, making it the perfect platform to launch the latest edition of the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival.

The 2017 Silverstone Classic (28-30 July) will once again feature three days of entertainment with a huge entry grid, plenty of racing and first class paddock access.

All of Europe’s leading historic categories will be on the packed programme, including an incredible Formula One grid with iconic Grand Prix cars from the 1970s and early 1980s, some of which will be displayed on Regent Street.

Regent Street Motor Show

Already confirmed for the show on Regent Street is an iconic black and gold JPS Lotus which will line-up alongside some other much-loved racing classics

Like last year, prices for early bird adult tickets start from £35 and the cost of the three-day weekend ticket remains at £99. Details of all 2017 ticket prices, as well as hospitality and camping options, will be available on the silverstoneclassic.com website early next month.

Everyone booking their tickets on 5 November will be entered into a special draw giving a chance to win a ‘golden ticket’ with prizes ranging from a hot lap around the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit on the Classic’s Preview Day, to a ride in a course car during the event or even an upgrade to VIP hospitality.
