Retro classics head for Snetterton
A new event for retro and classic cars is to be held at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit on Sunday, 31 May.
Organised by Time Attack in conjunction with the Retro-Rides online community, The Retro Kings Show combines a static show with the thrill of on-track action.
Sponsored by Millers Oils, K&N, Goodridge and many other popular parts and accessories brands, Retro Kings will have club displays from across the retro car spectrum, from pristine standard examples to modified classics.
Individuals also have the opportunity to enter the Show and Shine, sponsored by Kleers Car Care. The lucky winner will not only win a trophy and some of the UK’s leading car cleaning products but they will also be invited to automatically display on the best of the best display at the Petrol & Pistons show, held at Croft Circuit on Saturday, 22 August.
Other attractions at the Retro Kings event includes a Retro Drag Celebration and Fire Up to mark the circuit’s huge history in drag racing back in the day, and a Retro-Rides Sprint Competition, which owners can enter for just £35 for three timed runs of the circuit infield.
The event will host the second round of the Time Attack Championship. Time Attack is a circuit-based time trial championship for standard and modified road cars, with drivers competing to post the best time of the day. New for 2015 will be the addition of a class for Classic and Retro Time Attack cars.
Track time will be available to visitors, to be pre-booked at £25 per session. Places are limited so participants are advised to book early.
Expect to see historic Formula 1 cars in action, with free access to the paddock, as well as a spectacular stunt team display.
Early bird tickets cost £10, rising to £12 if pre-booked after the end of March. Tickets on the day will cost £15. Camping also available. For the latest updates visit www.retrokings.co.uk
