Porsche turbo icons set for NEC classic motor show
Sixteen turbocharged Porsches will be on display at this year’s NEC classic motor show in November to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first turbocharged Porsche.
Visitors to the show will be able to see a 924 Carrera GT and a 944 Turbo Cabriolet, as well as a 930 Turbo Martini Edition as Porsche GB makes it show debut.
The cars have all been freshly restored by Porsche centres across the UK and are now set to wow the crowds at the Lancaster Insurance-sponsored show.
The restoration work is part of a nationwide competition and the Porsche centre team that produces the winning car wins a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the carmaker's legendary Camp4 winter driving school in Finland
Restoring such iconic cars to a high standard takes a huge amount of time and money – and it goes to show just how highly Porsche values its classic heritage.
