CarFest South set to wow petroheads
A sell-out crowd is expected at CarFest South this Bank Holiday weekend.
More than 20,000 people will attend the event at Laverstoke Park near Basingstoke on 22-24 August.
The heady mix of motors, food and music was conceived by BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Chris Evans as the perfect family festival – and a great way of raising money for Children In Need.
Evans says this year promises to be the best ever, “We’ve lined up some truly fabulous cars, great live bands, plus an utterly unbelievable array of family entertainment. I can’t wait to get revving and rocking all over again!”
As well as Evans’ ‘Magnificent Seven’ collection of Ferraris – this year lead by the latest LaFerrari hypercar – there will also be a ‘Muscle Car Seven’ that will include the soon-to-be release Ford V8 Mustang Fastback.
There will also be a ‘Movie Car Seven’ with a Back to the Future De Lorean and ‘Love Bug’ Herbie Beetle. There’s even an ‘Anniversary Seven’ including the Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’ owned by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, and an ‘Unusual Seven’ containing Honda’s record-breaking 130mph lawn mower.
