People’s choice at Concours of Elegance

Published 06 August 2014

Visitors to the Concours of Elegance will be able to vote for their personal ‘Best of Show’ favourite for the first time this year.

They can chose from 60 hand-picked classics at the event, which takes place at Hampton Court Palace over the weekend of 5-7 September.

To vote, visitors simply have to text the entry number of their favourite car from their mobile phone. Texts will be charged for, but any money raised will be donated to charity.

Unlike traditional concours events, the annual Concours of Elegance doesn’t have a judging panel briefed to scrutinise each entry and select a ‘winning’ car.

Instead, each vehicle owner votes for the concours car that he considers to be the most elegant.

As well as a display of stunning concours cars from around the world, visitors will be able to see a wide range of classics in the dedicated pre-1975 ‘tax exempt’ parking area.

The 2014 Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace will be open to the public on Saturday, 6 September, and Sunday, 7 September, with entry tickets, picnics and hospitality available in advance only.

Concours admission tickets will include entry into Hampton Court Palace and its extensive grounds, and these can be purchased now at the Concours of Elegance website (www.concoursofelegance.co.uk).
