Preview: Three Castles Welsh Reliability Trial

Published 09 October 2013

Three Castles is well established as one of the leading historic rallies, and in 2014 it will be run on 4-7 June. It's based in the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno in North Wales, and the field of wonderful classic cars visits castles, stately homes, mountains and coastline, as well as enjoying some of the finest roads the UK has to offer.

It's the 12th running of this popular event, and for 2014, it will be expanding to include a ‘Prologue’ day. This is a practice tour and advice day, which is free to all competitors and will involve a simple yet timed 30 mile route to get everyone get ‘into the groove’.

Also new for 2014 will be a Concours d’Elegance. It will be judged on Llandudno’s Promenade between 10.00am-1.00pm on Prologue Day, and will be open to all rally competitors. There will be prizes, and as an added incentive, Concours cars will be first through scrutineering.

The event retains its unique format that sees it based in a single place, allowing competitors to stay in the same hotel room throughout the long weekend. The entry list is now open and for anyone considering joining the event, a brochure, regulations booklet and entry forms can all be downloaded from www.three-castles.com
