Aston Martin to be honoured at Classics at the Castle
Aston Martin’s centenary will be the celebrated marque at this year’s Classics at the Castle show, which takes place at Dorset’s Sherborne Castle on Sunday 21st July. The event will have a number of historic cars to mark 100 years of Aston Martin, with the ex-works 1929 LM3 Le Mans car and the 1922 ex-Louis Sborowski Strasburg Grand Prix racer confirmed among the line-up.
Other famous Aston Martins on offer will include the DB2 that was raced by Stirling Moss in the 1950 MCC Daily Express 1000-mile rally and the ex-Spa Grand Prix 2-litre Speed model. A number of modern classics from the 1980s and 1990s will also be on display.
The show’s organisers will also host a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini and the Porsche 911. Heritage Classic Car Insurance will also be attending with an eclectic mix of classics on its stand, which will feature a 1930 Ford Model A, 1966 Jaguar E-type and 1935 Riley 9 Merlin.
In addition to the hundreds of classics on display, there’ll be parades of race and rally cars, as well as a huge autojumble and trader village.
Tickets are £10 for adults, with free entrance for children under 16 years. Gates are open from 10am until 4pm. For more information visit www.merlinevents.com.
