Published 28 May 2013

A new classic car rally based at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire and that takes in Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on 23 June has already attracted 200 historic vehicle entrants. The route includes some of the prettiest countryside has to offer including the North Cotswolds.

The Rally, organised by experienced Rally organiser Geoff Ives and marshalled by the Porsche Club of Great Britain, then returns to the HMC via a different route. There will be a presentation at end the day celebrating ‘The Heritage Family Car’, ‘The Car of the Event’, and ‘Spirit of the Event’ award winners, chosen by the sponsors and organisers.

The event, sponsored by Heritage Insurance, is open to classic cars aged 20 years old or older, rally enthusiasts are advised to book early as spaces are limited. For an entry fee of £49 per car, enthusiasts receive Tulip route maps, a Rally plate, windscreen sticker, a picnic for two people, entry into the HMC and the fantastic Blenheim Palace Park and Informal Gardens. Entry to the interior of the Palace and the Formal Garden can be purchased on the day for those wishing to expand their day out.

John Bishop, Club, Groups and Rallies Senior Co-ordinator at HMC, said: 'There is no time element involved so this is more of a fun event or a taster for a more ambitious event in the future. No skill is required and any car capable of driving on public roads can take part.'
