A Grand Monday: Citroen BX £1195
Good Citroen BXs are hard to find these days – most of them got turned into soup cans during the scrappage scheme.
So when we spotted this low-mileage 1989 Citroen BX 1.6 Pilot for just £1195, we thought it was worth a look.
It hasn’t been with the seller very long – only since February – but it has racked up 1000 miles in that time, reportedly with no faults.
So why is he selling it? The seller says, ‘I've recently been accepted on a university course that starts in September, so between now and then the BX is going to have to go – very regrettably.’
A student’s car, then – let’s hope isn’t hasn’t been maintained on a student’s budget. The seller says the spheres were re-gassed recently, so you might just be in luck.
With 50,000 miles on the clock and a huge history file (bills, receipts, every single tax disc from new) it looks like the car’s been well cared for.
The seller gave it a full service and it doesn’t sound like it needs much work to keep it on the road, either.
It’s well spec’d, with full leather interior, power steering, central locking and electric front windows and sunroof.
According to the seller, ‘There is so much history to write about, it's basically had no expense spared and has a very straight body.’
Located in Bristol, the car has an MoT until 18 September, 2015. At just over a grand, we reckon this is a classic worth saving – especially as there are only 1693 left on the road.
