Ex-George Harrison Merc heads to auction

Published 22 January 2019

A Mercedes 500 SEL once owned by George Harrison is going under the hammer. The W126 AMG is going under the hammer at Anglia Car Auctions on Saturday, 26 January. It is expected to fetch up to £70,000.

Harrison bought the car new from Strattons of Wilmslow, where its suspension was lowered, fitted with an upgraded body kit and host of other treats like Penta alloys.

It cost Harrison £85,000 new and he clocked up 30,000 miles during his 18-year ownership of the Merc.

In storage for the four years, the car has been mechanically refreshed over the past 12 months with work totalling around £10k. It currently has 61k on the clock.
