Supermodel Mini heads to auction

A Mini that famously starred in an advertising campaign alongside 1960s supermodel Twiggy is going under the hammer. The 1960 Morris Mini was used in promotional material for Marks & Spencer in 2006. It is for sale at Classic Car Auctions’ December sale and could fetch up to £10,000.

The pink Mini features hand-painted flowers finished with clear lacquer with a White Connolly leather interior, pink floor mats and decorative 1960’s style cushions. After its short television career, Corgi commissioned a scale model of the floral Mini.

And the car itself was on display at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon from 2009 to 2011, as part of the model’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Simon Langsdale, CCA classic car specialist, said, ‘Considering the large number of modified and customised Minis that have been created over the years, this is a fantastic opportunity own a truly unique ‘one of a kind' Mini with a real story to tell.’
