Audi Quattro smashes auction record
A low-mileage 1991 Audi Quattro Turbo 20v broke the auction record when it sold for £72,050 at Classic Car Auctions' September Sale.
The car, which was in original condition, had covered 32,233 miles from new and been with its current owner for 13 years. It went under the hammer at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on 23 September.
Other sale highlights included a 1989 Daimler Double-Six, which sold for £13,750. And a 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S in Silver Rose that fetched £34,100.
But it was a 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport that racked up the highest price of day at £99,000 including premium - almost £40,000 beyond its lower estimate.

Prices for 1970s BMWs are rising and the CCA sale saw a bidding war for a 1975 BMW 3.0 CSA with the car finally selling for to £29,480.
Our favourite lot was a 1979 Ford Fiesta 1300S. Despite having only 5693 miles on the clock, it was desperately in need of some TLC after more than a decade in storage. Enthusiastic bidding saw it sell for £5720.
Plenty of attention was lavished on a 1970 Fixed Head Series II Jaguar E-type 4.2, pushing the final price to £40,700 - £16,000 more than its lower estimate. While a 1972 Triumph TR6 sold for £30,800.
