Ex-Elton John Ferrari Daytona heads to Silverstone sale

A 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona once owned by musician Sir Elton John is heading to auction. This matching numbers example is one of 158 genuine right-hand drive vehicles supplied, finished in Rosso Chiaro with a black interior as per the manufacturer's specification.

Owned by the singer-songwriter between 1973 and 1975, the car has since passed through the hands of members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club. The last private collector owned the car for 16 years. Powered by a 352bhp V12 engine, the car boasts a top speed of 175mph and has 81,675 miles on the clock.

It is expected to fetch between £525,000 and £575,000 when it goes under the hammer at Silverstone Classic on 29 July.
