Luxury Bentley set for CCA sale

Published 26 May 2017

A 2004 Bentley Arnage is being offered for sale at Classic Car Auctions’ June event. The R Mulliner Level ll is expected to fetch between £30,000 and £40,000 when it goes under the hammer at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 10 June.

The Crewe-built Bentley Arnage was the fastest and most powerful four-door saloon of its time, offering buyers a heady combination of luxury and performance. New, it cost £147,000 – but these days, it is one of the most affordable luxury saloons on the market.

This example is finished in Fountain Blue over Peacock Blue. It started life as a press car at the 2004 British Motor Show (held at the NEC under the Sunday Times Motor Show Live banner). It has clocked up a modest 56,000 miles and is said to be ‘like new’.

Featuring a Mulliner Level II interior, the car is upholstered with Cotswold leather with French Navy leather dash, walnut picnic tables, wooden steering wheel, French Navy carpets and walnut and chrome detailing. Other mod-cons include an electric rear blind and fridge in the back.

Power comes from a 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 with two Garrett T3 turbochargers, capable of producing 399bhp.

Joe Watts, classic car consignor, Classic Car Auctions, said, ’The sheer class of this Crewe original is breath-taking and the condition of the car is difficult to fault. Anyone looking for extreme luxury at a very attractive price should definitely come along on auction day.’
