Unique and Unusual Classic Cars at Auction Today
Brightwells Classic Car Auction at Bicester Heritage today features an eclectic collection of cars you don’t usually see at UK classic car auctions.
Starting small, a tiny 1963 Glas Goggomobile TS250 coupe estimated at a considerable £19,000 - £22,000, but that’s what microcars can fetch these days.
Moving on, a magnificent 1927 Delage DIS with original Australian coachwork by Phizakerly of Sydney. (Estimated at £37,000 - £42,000).
Continuing the French theme, a rather wonderful Hotchkiss 686 Monte Carlo Decouvrable with mechanical drophead coupe 4/5 seater bodywork, a stunning art deco dashboard and fastidious details such as grease nipples to the door hinges. (Estimated at £38,000 - £42,000).
The 1924 Aster 18/50 coupe is one of only two known to survive and is estimated at £28,000 to £32,000.
A lovely and beautifully restored Vauxhall OD 23-60 Kington Tourer promises wonderful vintage motoring for an estimated £65,000 - £75,000. At today’s prices the restoration costs alone would have topped £500,000.
A 1926 3.6 litre Sunbeam 25hp Tourer is ready to give a lot of pleasure at £32,000 - £40,000.
There’s a characterful, well-used 1931 Lagonda 2.0 litre Low Chassis Speed model saloon estimated at £25,000 - £30,000.
For Ford fans a freshly repainted 1922 Model T van, estimated at £9,000 to £11,000 and a pair of 1928 Model A Tudors, RHD and LHD, estimated at £10,500 to £14,000.
Two triumph TRs, two Austin A35s, two Citroen 2CVs, an MGA, a V12 E-Type with a 5.7 litre V12 motor. A 200mph 2005 Bentley Continental Flying Spur, a snip at £25,000 to £28,000. 63 cars in all.
Star cars are a 1955 Aston Martin DB 2/4 estimated at £145,000 to £165,000 and a 1961 Lancia Flaminia convertible by Touring estimated at £125,000 to £145,000.
