Toyota Lite Ace day van makes £6750 at auction

Published 20 September 2016

A 1978 Toyota Lite Ace day van sold at auction for £6750. The hard to find six-seater went under the hammer at BCA Glasgow on 2 September as part of the light commercial vehicle sale.

The Lite Ace day van had just one owner from new and its low mileage and interesting history attracted plenty of interest. With so few on the road, experts valued the van at £7000-£8000.

Known by the owner’s family as 'Latisha', the van had just 86,000 km (53,000 miles) on the clock. Originally bought and operated in Hong Kong for 12 months, the van spent the next 37 years as the family’s summer transport, used for holidays and days out, and was garaged when not being used.

The Toyota was offered for sale in timewarp condition and complete with keys, wheel jack and tools, manuals, a box of scarce spare parts, as well as workshop manuals.
