Two 612PS Mercedes-Benz AMGs in Historics 20th August Auction
Historics 20th August classic car auction at Brooklands features two fantastic 612PS 6.0 litre V12 bi-turbo Mercedes AMGs: an S-Class saloon and a CL.
Introduced in July 2003 the 5,980cc S65 AMG developed 612PS with torque electronically limited to 1,000Nm, getting it from 0-60 in just over 4 seconds, to 125mph in 13.3 seconds and, though limited to 155mph, an unrestricted top speed would be close to 200mph. To drive, it offers Ferrari perfomance in a limousine. This 1974 S65 AMG with 75,495 recorded miles and a current MoT is estimated at a mere £7,000 - £12,000.

Alongside the S65 AMG, the CL65 AMG with the same drivetrain was originally listed at £142,453 and is potentially slightly quicker. With the same 612PS and torque electronically limited from 1,200Nm to 1,000Nm it is an extraordinary thing to drive. This 2004 example has 44,000 miles and a complete Mercedes Benze service history to August 2015 when the Active Body Control pump was replaced. It is estimated at £10,000 - £15,000.
