Ferrari F40 sells for £720,702 at auction
A 1991 Ferrari F40 sold for £720,702 at auction this week as values for the iconic supercar stay strong.
The F40 went under the hammer at Artcurial’s ‘Automobiles Sur Les Champs’ sale on Monday, 22 June.
An F40 from the same year sold at RM Sotheby’s auction in May for £719,510. And a low-mileage F40 fetched just over £1m in America in March, according to Classic Car Price.
The Ferrari was the auction’s biggest seller, while a rare 1925 Bugatti Type 13 Brescia made £593,633. But it was the price for ‘youngtimers’ such as the Lancia Delta that caught our eye. It made £47,533.
Mathieu Lamoure, managing director of the Collectors’ Motor Car Department at Artcurial, agreed. He said, ‘More accessible ‘Youngtimers’ are becoming more highly sought after, like the Lancia Delta.’
