Five Ferraris for sale at auction this weekend
Five Ferraris are up for sale at one auction in Belgium this weekend.
The Italian supercars will be going under the hammer at Bonhams Spa Classic sale, on Sunday 24 May at Spa Francorchamps Circuit, Belgium.
Top-billing goes to a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ Berlinetta, which carries an estimate of €600,000-800,000 (£428,000-570,000).
With a top speed of more than 170mph, the Ferrari 365 GTB was the fastest production car of its day.
Indeed, it was its reputation for speed that earned the GTB its unofficial moniker, ‘Daytona’ after the 1967 1st, 2nd and 3rd finish by the Ferrari 330P4 at Florida’s Daytona International Speedway.
Philip Kantor, Bonhams european head of motoring, said, ‘The motor car offered has been under the same family ownership for 27 years and, after a brief stint in bright yellow paintwork, this rare ‘plexiglass’ model is now finished in its original colour, Rosso Rubino.’
The other Ferraris going under the hammer are a 1976 Ferrari 308GT Berlinetta Vetroresina – estimate €190,000-230,000 (£135,000-164,000) and a 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia Coupé - estimate €120,000-180,000 (£86,000-128,000).
Also for sale is a 1973 Ferrari 365GT4 2+2 - estimate €100,000-140,000 (£71,000-100,000) and 1986 Ferrari Testarossa – estimate €110,000-130,000 (£78,000-93,000), pictured below.
