'No reserve' Mk2 Jaguar resto project for sale at auction

Published 04 March 2015

If you’re feeling brave and fancy taking on a classic car project, then check out the Silverstone Auctions’ sale at the NEC later this month.

The sale, which is part of the Restoration Show, takes place on Saturday, 28 March.

And it includes a 1961 3.8-litre Mk2 Jaguar, purchased by the previous registered keeper in 1974 and not used since a tree fell on his garage.

The car  is in need of total restoration and offered at no reserve.

More than £1 million worth of barn finds were sold at last year’s auction, with a 1973 Ferrari 246GT Dino stealing plenty of headlines.

The Ferrari remained untouched for over 39 years and sold for a phenomenal £132,250.
