Low-mileage trio of 1990s Italian sports cars could fetch £300k at auction
A trio of low-mileage 1990s Italian sports cars could fetch a combined total of £300,000 when they go under the hammer at next year’s Race Retro sale.
The Ferrari Testarossa, Mondial T, and Alfa Romeo SZ have all been tucked away as part of a large private collection in Europe.
But now, all three will be up for grabs at the Silverstone Auctions sale on 21-22 February at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
Top billing goes to the 1991 Testarossa, which has covered just 995 miles from new and is immaculate. It even comes with the original luggage and Cartier watch that was included in the sale of the cars when they were new. Expect it to fetch between £130,000 and £150,000.
The 1991 Ferrari Mondial T has clocked up 1180 miles in 24 years and is a one-owner from new car. It carries an estimate of between £50,000 and £70,000.
Last but not least is a 1991 Alfa Romeo SZ – one of just 998 made. With 502 miles on the clock, experts reckon it should fetch between £50,000 and £70,000.
Guy Lees-Milne, general manager and classic car specialist at Silverstone Auctions, said each of the cars was in almost brand new condition. He added, ‘It’s rare to find one or even two of these cars with such low mileage, but to find three is something special indeed.’
