Superbly versatile and sporty car, pity it was built by Ford

We bought the car because of the extra space in the back and 7 seats andf intially it lived up to all expectations. However, after a year and 26000 miles the parking sensors have failed again and now the handbrake has let go for the second time - our drive slopes and this has meant the car rolls into the house. Ford's attitude is that the dealer can find no fault so that's that - I and the numerous other unfortunates on forums are all liars. So the car (and it's not just SMaxs) have a life threatening issue and Ford is not interested because the dealer can not find a problem time after time after time across the country. We have the 2.2 version and it also seems to eat tyres and the official fuel consumption figures must have been achieved on a rolling road whuilst being driven by Miss Daisy. So nice idea but under the skin it's just another (not so) cheap Ford.
