remains one of the best family hatchbacks money can buy

Its hard to believe that the Focus has been around now for 12 years and yet remains one of the most highest recommendation for a family hatchback. When it was launched in 1998, it trounced the opposition, even when mainstream manufacturers were launching some fierce competition at the time, the Lotus chassis tuned Vauxhall Astra, the premium appeal of the VW Golf and the stylish Peugeot 306, the Focus had a lot on its shoulders to replace the ageing Escort. But when I first drove it, it felt as good, if better than the Puma sports car Ford launched a year earlier. Its comfortable and fun, a combination which other manufacturers have struggled to match.
Personally I prefer the Focus to the Mondeo with a model for everyone to choose. Most notably the RS, which brings the hot hatch boundary to a new level. Brilliant.
