Nice to drive, Reliable, Economical but Rusty

Reliable, starts every time, drives well, costs little to service, quite economical for a petrol. All problems experienced during 2 year ownership (10,000 mile) ownership (from 93,000 to 104,000 mi) have been a result of heavy salt corrosion. Bodywork underneath badly rusted, brake calipers replaced due to rust and related ceasing. Previous owners replaced wishbones due to rust 10 years ago, (car was 5 years old then, indicating flood?) and a battery. Drivers side electric window gearing (not motor) failed. Disappointed and put off Fords by lack of underseal, shoddy painting of panels not normally seen which has led to rust, and by unpainted (dipped but not sprayed) area hidden by boot lid only visible when half open.
