STRIKE HALTS CAR PARTS FACTORY

Production at the Morris Motors factory here was brought to a standstill today when more than 2,000 men, mostly members of the Transport and General Workers' Union, went on unofficial strike. Normal working at the factory was resumed yesterday after a six-week official strike by 115 craftsmen, members of the Amalgamated Engineering Union. Today's stoppage, it is understood, arose from dissatisfaction with piece work rates in the press shop. No official statement was available.
