Where can I get a replacement central locking unit for my Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

On the 10th of this month I bought a 10 year old A-Class Mercedes-Benz from a local dealer. Within a couple of days I found that the central locking unit did not always work - then it stopped working altogether. The dealer tells me that my 30-day warranty does not cover this so I am looking for someone who will sell me a new unit at a better price than Mercedes-Benz - can you help?

Evans Halshaw should repair this, whether it's covered under the warranty or not. Under the Sale of Goods act, they should have told you that the central locking was not working at point of sale or repaired it. You have a reasonable expectation that the central locking should work. Have a read of our consumer rights section: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights
