Was there ever a BMW diesel engine fitted in the Ford Mondeo?

At some point in the past I believe Ford fitted a BMW 6 cylinder diesel engine in some early Mondeo models. Do you know which years/models this covered and which model engine it was?

There was never a six-cylinder diesel in the Ford Mondeo. However, Vauxhall used a BMW straight-six diesel in the Omega from 1994 until the model was facelifted in 2000 and given a GM engine - perhaps this is the car you are thinking of?
