I have a 2001/51 Mondeo TDDI 115 diesel estate. Should I change the clutch in Scotland or in Portsmouth? Mr Clutch (in Portsmouth) total charge for clutch, dual mass flywheel and some other parts (everything that could be required) is £710. Time taken expected to be between 4 to 6 hours, dependent upon whether there are any ‘sticky’ bolts. My local Ford agent and local non-Ford agent total charge to change all possible parts is £1,150. Assuming an hourly rate of £50 for Mr Clutch = £200 / £300 for labour. That leaves £400 to £500 for parts. Does that seem reasonable? For changing out the clutch alone Mr Clutch asked £200. Your thoughts please?
