Great workhorse that eats up the miles.

Bought this as a i owner car with full service history from an independent Volvo specialist (Formula Cars near Taunton). 163,000 on the clock in 5 years. We're now at 234,000 and I've only had two problems, costing about £700 and £400 to fix. Other than that, it's been mainly consumables like brakes, tyres etc.

It's been fantastic and I love the seats! Most comfortable I've ever had! Long times in the car - no problem! Brilliant on the motorway and for such a big car, it's very ecoomical (48-50 mpg). It averages over 40, even with quite a lot of town work. Did I mention the seats? Leather, memory and heated (my wife loves them!).

I've kept the history going with Formula Cars (who've been great, by the way) and it's still worth about £800 - £1000 even with 234,000 on the clock. It's so well built! All the electrics function as they should etc.

The 5 cylinder diesel engine has been described by some reviewers as "gruff", but I call it character.

To sum up, it's a great car as a long term proposition, if you get the right on in the first place! Don't be afraid of a high mileage one with good history. They are just so well built.
