Miserable Hatchback

I bought at a dealer at 8 years old with 60.000 miles on it.

I owned the car for 3 years and added around 25000 miles to it.

In that time I replaced the thermostat, AC and resealed the pollen filter carrier and oil pressure sensor. The rear wiper motor also failed and eventually so did the heater fan. Also before selling the car it developed a weird fault where I could take the key out of the ignition barrel and the engine would stay running.
I will say the mpg was fairly poor, averaging around 32 and road tax fairly high.

However, although quite a lot of parts needed fixing they aren’t as expensive as on some cars (wonder why?). And the Astra, whilst dull to drive had fairly decent seats and an alright sized boot.

I wouldn’t recommend the Astra or buy another. Other cars of the same ilk are better built and better to drive.
