An awful lot of car for very little money - built like the proverbial brick s***house and soooo much more comfortable :-)

My fifth SAAB 9000. Bought for £750 at 145k miles, now at 178k miles. Took her to France 5 days after purchase, no pre-trip service, just drove her. Didn't let me down and returned 36mpg. These beasts just devour the miles with consumate ease and deliver you in perfect condition. As HJ says, the seats are VERY comfortable... and they are heated :-) You can get the kitchen sink and then some in the boot, then put the rear seats down and it's cavernous! Puts Volvo estates to shame. And it's safer too - In another 9000 I hit a tractor, baling forks first, I walked away with only cuts from the smashed glass windows. Costs wise they are very cheap to maintain - Oil & filter change every 6k miles (£60) and that's pretty well it. Ebay has all the other bits you might need - the DirectIgnition cassette is a common failing item (had one go on a 2.3 turbo) but I bought two (just in case) for £45. Only fault I have had with the current beast is a failed fuel pump - I got a new one from the SAAB spares site very cheaply and my local garage fitted it - £100. I really can't fault these cars, incredible safety, great drive, fantastically practical, amazing durability, superior comfort, different, boringly reliable! Grab yourself a bargain.
