Completely reliable and a pleasure to own

I bought the car 9 years ago with about 22,000 miles on the clock. It has now done 120,000. It feels well built and the engine seems ready for another 100k.

I would not normally keep a car this long, but it is quiet, powerful and comfortable and enjoyable to drive. The interior is to my mind more pleasant than most modern equivalents.

Economy is predictably not great (27 mpg average) but there is not much point spending thousands to save a few mpg.

BMW servicing from new including one replacement of gearbox oil, thanks to HJ recommendation. Another is now due! It has never let me down and I can recall only one fault (defective radiator cap), apart from normal wearing items.

Great car!
