Overall reliability

good motorway cruiser something wrong with it every couple of weeks.

I purchased my 330d se with 100000 miles on the clock for just under 4k at the time so was alot of car for the money. At the time i was traveling 120 mile round trip daily to and from work so needed something that went well and was comfortable wich the bmw was all thoe the offset pedals were a slight pain after a coulpe of hours driving. I clocked up 60k in two years. driving a cross country roads and motorway was averaging 50mpg wich for a 3ltr was impressive. problems with the car over the 60k were new airflow metre at around 120000k. torque damper (rubber bush thats inbetween gearbox and prop shaft) went starts knocking when changing gear only seem to last 30k ish. eats front discs and pads will warp the discs quite quickly if driven hard. had new front drop link arms, front bushes, rear bushes, new rear suspension shocks and springs. injector feed pipes leaking. had a fault code that came up time and time again 1630 fault code took the car to bmw for diagnostics was told it was the glow plugs or glow plug relay was quoted £739 for glow plug and glow plug relay change. had done the glow plugs a few weeks before for £60 plus labour by a good friend who is a specialist mechanic total £110. so just purchased the relay for £80 from bmw was easy to fit its in the ecu box on the lhs of engine bay one plug and a nut. sorry bmw stick it up your a$%^. No fault for a few months then its back again plus when cruising along at 70-80 car would splutter almost misfire intermitent fault for quite awile turns out to be the fuel rail pressure sensor. climate control had amind of its own. space in the front of the car not bad no decent cup holders. space in the rear seats is poor as is the space in the boot. likes rear tyres even when driven sensible. build quality of the interior was exellent i traded the car in at 160000 miles and not even a squeek from the dash board. would i have a nother bmw no. seem to have something wrong every couple of weeks. if your looking at getting one of these with over 100k on it walk away.
